Tavira Southern Portugal 2017
Founded by the Phoenicians in 800 BCE this town was called Baal Salphon after the Phoenician Gods of Thunder and the Sea. The town was later Roman and then a Moorish stronghold. The town was destroyed after the massive Lisbon earthquake of 1755. Today it is a quiet fishing village with stunning HOT weather and quiet cafes.
This was our last stop in Portugal before entering Spain about 7km away.
